happy birthday!

I met this short guy in wipro .....kewl and confident.Well being in the same team for quite a while ,sharing success and sorrows,planning our strategies,bitching our bosses,trip to chakauri.....all this bonding endend up in healthy friendship....and offcourse in my blaster scandals (Lolz)..i used to get lot of support from him.
Much to say about Saurabh ..he is very talented guy..whatever computers,photography ..etc.

I've known Nikku(yeah! that's the pet name he doesn't tell anyone about.) for more than a decade now. We became friends because i taught him how to make tunnels in the sandpit. Then one day he made a bigger and better castle than mine and I,being the spoilsport I was, kicked it and ran away. He didn't talk to me for the next 3years.

Our mutual nothing-to-do-in-the-evening state made us become friends again. We played Battleship in Summers and went around throwing the Frisbee in winters(we both were quite hopeful about making it to the international Frisbee championship held in Australia,sadly,we didn't). Then one day he tweaked his radio so that it'll catch all the international channels and suddenly I had the best music collection in my class(thanks to MTV Asia). That was the first of his technological achievements. Then came the umpteen phones,calculators,speakers and last yet the most significant... a motherboard. It amused me to see him operate upon the strange insides using a dangerous solder(spell check!) Now he can tweak almost anything and make a new thing out of it.
We hatched schemes and plots, played spectacular pranks(I've never laughed half as much as I laughed when pulled off tricks on Mr Dinesh Mittal),got chased by cops for not wearing helmets. We've trained each other to ask out our first girlfriends and even helped each other decide the clothes for the first date.
Saurabh Varma is very fluid as a person. His approach to life is the simplest I've seen. He likes to get his money's worth and can make life hell for anyone who doesn't do that. He files a complaint with the consumer courts at the drop of a hat(all the local cable operators and Internet Service Providers dread him already).

Of his many qualities, it's his immense patience that is is the most admirable. He is patient to the extent of being relentless. He can spend hours trying to find a single lag in a circuit or perfecting his driving skills in a stupid pc game.

The funniest thing about Saurabh is tendency to develope and allergy to almost everything. He once got a rash all over his body just because a small harmless dry leaf fell on his shoulder. He developes Donald Duck like lips if he's fed mint in any form. His eyes start watering the minute one particle of red chilly touches his tongue.

Saurabh is a wizard of sorts as far as computers or anything related to them is concerned. This probably tops the list of his interests. He is the first person I go to for advice related to anything even vaguely electronic. A super bike whose name I can't recall tops his wish list. He's been riding bikes ever since he was 12, and the first
time I saw him riding one and waved to him, he waved back and lost his balance and came flying through the air. Off late he has also developed a keen interest in photography maybe that explains the weird insect snaps in his gallery. Saurabh is a man of few dreams , but he'll make reality outta each of them.

He has his own twisted yet sensible theories on everything and knows how to use them to his advantage. You can't win an argument with him unless he wants to let you.

He has very small eyes and I don't think he can see anything when he smiles.



This is definitely the longest testimonial I've ever written and yet I feel I haven't written enough(I haven't even talked about his new found Lala paunch,the horror stories he makes up in an inebriated state,his love for Baniyas, toothpaste smooches, his Kismat issues,his love for headgear,his fear of Amrita,his irresistible appetite for curd,the fall in front of Khosla hospital,his Pepsi sponsored burps,his diligence at work,his visit to Peacock Bar,his cowardice in AoE... this list will last longer than your patience,so i must stop).

We are best friends because every story in my life that's worth telling, begins with the words -- Saurabh and I...

I know him for a little more than a year. Saurabh is very good with computers and has his own fixed interests which don't change. He may whack you on the head if you talk loudly at a restaraunt and sometimes likes to go into a frenzy where only he knows he's laughing. He's not photogenic :P (who is anyway) but he likes taking pictures in general and is pretty good at it. He's very good at what he does and things he isnt too good at he doesn;t do. He's got a job @ Wipro and he's doing good for himself. He's very independent whcih is another thing I must learn.Anyhow, enough of being a nice guy. Saurabh is bit of a control freak which can be irritating. He can't drive for shi* but he rides the bike like a semi pro at times.
